Scott McNair Balcomb, who passed away on August 4, 2023, dedicated his life to his family, the law, and the betterment of Glenwood Springs. Raised in Glenwood since the age of five, Scott became a force of nature in water law, earning respect for his sharp mind, integrity, and dedication to protecting natural resources. As an advocate for geothermal energy and a steward of the Colorado River, Scott played a crucial role in guiding the pool’s master plan, ensuring that future generations could continue to enjoy the healing waters that make Glenwood Hot Springs such a unique place.
Beyond his legal expertise, Scott was a larger-than-life personality, with a love for the outdoors. Whether snowmobiling, skiing, or camping, Scott embraced all that Colorado had to offer. His infectious laugh, positive attitude, and dedication to his community made him beloved by all who knew him.
