Outstanding Lodging Options in Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort unveils plans to update Lodge guest rooms and add Hotel 1888

One of Colorado’s best-known attractions, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort continues to evolve and deliver top-notch guest experiences and is one of the outstanding lodging options in Glenwood Springs. The iconic resort successfully launched the new Yampah Mineral Baths at the world’s largest hot springs pool in May and this fall started on a planned two-phase makeover of all 107 guest rooms in the Lodge at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and the addition of a new boutique hotel, Hotel 1888.

The Lodge remains open for business during the refresh, as work on the guest rooms will happen strategically in stages. In effort to minimize impact on guests, the upgrades will happen from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays only, with no work being done on weekends.

At the same time, the historic sandstone bathhouse building, located poolside and previously known as Spa of the Rockies, will be transformed into Hotel 1888. Slated to offer 16 luxury guest rooms, the hotel’s name honors Glenwood Hot Springs Resort opening on July 4, 1888.

Both the Lodge guest room improvements and creation of Hotel 1888 will be wrapped up in spring 2025 and are part of the resort’s multiyear improvement plan. The plan began with the introduction of Sopris Splash Zone in 2019, continued with the renovation of the Therapy Pool and all changing rooms in 2022, and most recently featured the opening of Yampah Mineral Baths just in time for the summer season in 2024.
