Kelley’s Corner: Staying Fit and Slender this December

Kelley’s Corner: Staying Fit and Slender this December

Cookie season is upon us. As we head into the holidays, it’s the perfect time to enjoy, while also thinking about fitness choices for ourselves, our families and for others.

The Athletic Club is hosting a “12 Days of Workouts” gym challenge for members wanting to stay fit this holiday season. To join, pick up a participant card from the front desk and complete at least 12 workouts this month between December 2 – 31 for a chance to win a prize. More challenge details are available from instructors, at the front desk, or on flyers posted at the gym.

Join instructor Annig on December 6 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for her First Friday yoga workshop titled “Hip-Hip Hooray.” All levels are welcome for this class focusing on opening the hips.

The Athletic Club offers several fee-based small-group Pilates Reformer classes. Reformer punch passes make great gifts for members in need of core strengthening, improvement of structural alignment and postural issues, muscular re-balancing and strength development.

Small-group and personal training options are available at the Club. These also make great gift ideas if you, or someone you know, needs motivation or help structuring a personal exercise plan tailored towards individual needs.

Fitness is one of the best gifts not found under the tree. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and fitness-filled season of fun. Happy Holidays!

December Club Member Challenge

Participate in this month’s gym challenge by picking up your 12 Days of Workouts card at the front desk. Have your instructor initial and date a box after you complete their class. All completed participant cards will be entered into a drawing for a fitness-themed gift basket.  Cards may be kept at the front desk to prevent being lost, if desired.

Rule note: challengers cannot complete 12 of the same type of class. Participants must try at least three different styles of classes of their choice such as Barre, TRX, yoga, cycling, etc.
