Trish Pickett Recognized as Star of the Industry

Glenwood Springs, Colorado (Jan. 17, 2023) – Trish Pickett, head pool cashier at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, has been named a 2022 Star of the Industry lifetime achievement award winner by the Colorado Hotel Lodging Association (CHLA). She was nominated for the award by Taylor Mays, the resort’s pool manager.
Star of the Industry awards recognize exemplary hospitality leaders who have demonstrated superior professional dedication, leadership and a fresh perspective to their jobs. Nominations were reviewed and winners were selected by the CHLA Awards Committee.
Pickett began working at GHSR in 1997 as a part-time night cashier and over the years has also worked in the Shop and Athletic Club. She has been described as “the sound voice of reason” and “our rock” by her managers.
“Trish is well known for her steadiness, knowledge of our operations and her understanding of the needs of our guests and her fellow employees,” Mays says. “She is truly a team player and always has a positive attitude no matter what needs done or who she is helping. She is often ‘diving in’ to assist everywhere on property.”
He adds, “Trish offers warm encouragement to all who visit our hot springs and truly demonstrates integrity in her job responsibilities. She is an example for every other staff member to follow.”
When asked about her approach, Pickett says, “Mutual respect is key to the success of the team, which allows everyone to shine. For 25 years I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with many great individuals.”
She adds, “I love coming to work knowing no two days are the same and that my efforts can make happy, memorable experiences for generations of visitors and employees.”
