Kevin Flohr retires as the attraction’s fourth CEO in 50 years
Glenwood Springs, Colorado (January 6, 2026) – A search is underway for a new leader at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. Kevin Flohr retired as CEO on Dec. 31 after being with the locally owned company since 2018. Chief Operating Officer Jarrid Hadland has been appointed interim CEO.
A committee led by the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort Board of Directors is overseeing the search. “You have to love people to successfully lead in the resort hospitality business and oversee a leading Colorado attraction,” says Kjell Mitchell, president and chairman of the board. The CEO oversees almost 300 employees and a complex resort operation that includes geothermal hot springs swimming pools, two hotels, food service, retail and an athletic club that are spread out over a multi-acre site. A job posting has been listed.
Flohr, a Glenwood Springs native, joined the resort in 2018. Prior to working at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, he had a 34-year management career with Kroger in multiple locations and positions. Since 2018, much has happened as part of a multiyear plan that to date has included the opening of Sopris Splash Zone; renovation of the Therapy Pool and pool changing rooms; addition of the five-pool Yampah Mineral Baths; refresh of all 107 guest rooms at the Lodge; and most recently, the introduction of the new poolside Hotel 1888 with 16 luxury guest rooms and suites.
Prior to Flohr, there have been only three general managers or CEOs at the hot springs helm since 1976: Hank Bosco, 12 years; Kjell Mitchell, 27 years; and John Bosco, 3 years. All three men also are Glenwood Springs natives.
Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is the oldest continually running business in Glenwood Springs, opening its doors in 1888.
