At the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association’s annual gala on March 15, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort won two local awards! The resort was honored to receive the Best of Brass award. In addition, Lodge Manager Loretta Ayala was presented the Tourism Champion award for her commitment and contributions to local tourism.
The theme of the event, Emerald Elegance: A St. Paddy’s Celebration, provided a festive air and backdrop for the kudos presented to local businesses and community members. Rather than the luck of the Irish making the resort’s award and Ayala’s recognition possible, it is a solid vision for the future, a deep respect for history, dedication to community and customer service, and good old-fashioned hard work.
Best Brass – Outstanding Large Business of the Year Award
Best Brass is the highest honor presented to a Glenwood Springs area business and recognizes a significant accomplishment of the last year in the areas of commercial growth or achievement, innovation, creativity, and community involvement. Glenwood Hot Springs Resort had an exceptional 2024 with two major milestones: the opening of the Yampah Mineral Baths and a complete remodel of the Lodge guest rooms and suites.
In a few months, the resort will open Hotel 1888, a 16-room boutique hotel located inside the historic Stone Bath House. A top priority is preserving history by incorporating artifacts, memorabilia and period photos, and the resort is dedicated to working with area contractors, engineers and artisans.
The Yampah Mineral Baths launch and “Take A Water Break” campaigns to promote the new addition to the east side of the resort’s Grand Pool and Therapy Pool earned multiple marketing awards for creativity and effectiveness. In addition, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort introduced a new website and was named a Top 10 Hot Springs in the U.S. by USA Today in 2024.
As one of Glenwood Springs’ largest employers, the resort offers excellent benefits, skills training, leadership growth opportunities and incentives. The business also is a leader in giving back, supporting multiple local organizations through charitable giving, sponsorships and service on boards of directors. In 2024, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarship to three graduating high school seniors from the area. In total, $263,000 has been awarded to help young people achieve their educational dreams over the past 29 years.
