Everything is more fun when shared with friends and family. It’s especially true at the world’s largest hot springs pool in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where you can soak, relax and play to your heart’s content all year long. However, April is an ideal time to visit the community and Glenwood Hot Springs Resort since it’s less busy, yet there is plenty to do as the mountains begin to transition from spring to summer.
Here are three great reasons to visit Glenwood Springs in April.
Bring a Friend Days
There are two special days on Glenwood Hot Springs Resort’s calendar in April. Active annual pool pass holders and athletic club members can bring one friend to the pool for free on April 16 and April 19. The Bring a Friend events this spring are in recognition of Gary Miller, whose journey with Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is a perfect example of how finding the right fit for the right person can shape a legacy.
Gary grew up in Oklahoma City and traveled to Colorado to meet his biological father in 1967. He loved the area and walked into the resort, asked for a summer job, and was hired as a room clerk. An unexpected bonus was meeting his wife that summer, and they married two years later. After Gary graduated from college in Oklahoma City with a degree in personnel management and a minor in psychology, he was rehired as the resort’s night/evening manager after the couple moved to Colorado.
At the end of the 1971 summer season, Gary become the first-ever pool manager at the property. From 1971 to 1981, Miller pioneered the lifeguard program, introduced lap lanes, and launched early fitness offerings that helped define the pool experience of today. Nearly four decades later, he returned once more to serve as a buyer for the resort’s Shop, located in the pool lobby. It is a perfect example of the resort having the right person at the right time and discovering where that individual can have the most meaningful impact at a small, locally owned business that is made great with good people.

Even if you don’t get to tag along for Bring a Friend days, April is part of value season for purchasing day passes to world’s largest hot springs pool.
