Hi! My name is Mara, and I am 31 years old. My first trip to Glenwood Hot Springs pool was when I was 3 months old. I came with my mom and Dad and my grandmother and grandfather. I learned to swim in the Glenwood pool.
One of my favorite memories (there are so many) as a child was each summer being able to go a little farther down the length of the pool as I was getting taller and becoming a better swimmer. I remember staying at the lodge and sharing a connected room with my grandparents. My grandmother has recently become sick and some of my best memories were those summer Glenwood Hot Spring trips with her and the rest of my family. That was my childhood every summer.
I have not missed a summer trip to Glenwood Hot Springs in 31 years. I met my husband in January 2013 and we were married in June 2014. He also grew up going to Glenwood Hot Springs pool EVERY summer since he was born in 1984. Our parents would often see each other at the pool as they knew each other from our community however no one ever introduced my husband, or I until we met online in 2013. 1 day after we were engaged, we went to the Hot Spring pool to celebrate our engagement. Of all the places we could have gone in Colorado we chose to go there because GHS holds a special place in both of our hearts and has played a big role in our summer vacationing. Since we have been married, we have not missed a summer in Glenwood Hot Spring yet! I am currently pregnant, and we are planning a trip with our newborn baby this summer to continue the tradition!!
