My visit to glenwood hot springs probably starts like most. A friend and I wanted a winter getaway and discovered Colorado as the perfect destination. What we weren’t aware of was what this getaway would do for our mind, body and souls.
We arrived on a snowy night, truly traumatized by driving in the mountains during a storm. The first thing we did was drop our bags in the room and put our bathing suits on to explore the springs. Still reeling from the drive, we thought we would just see the happenings and turn in for the night.
We walked to the springs in our robes, set them down and dipped a toe into the pool. Our troubles and anxiety immediately melted away as we submerged more of our bodies into the water. How did we not know such a place existed? The snow was still falling all around us but instead of being aggravated, we were suddenly grateful for this moment. Grateful to experience snowfall in the same moment we were warm and cozy in the springs.
I can tell you that visiting Glenwood Springs is indeed a form of therapy. I cannot wait to come back.
