Making Your New Year’s Resolutions a Reality

We all know the routine. New Year’s Eve is a time of celebration and high hopes for the 365 days ahead. Resolutions are thoughtfully established to make some changes, many focusing on improved health and wellness. Glenwood Hot Springs Resort can help you reach success for a healthier lifestyle in 2023, and enjoy soaking in the mineral-rich hot springs as a sweet reward.

For the best value and a great way to stay on track, treat yourself to an Athletic Club membership or a season-long value pool pass that pays for itself after 10 visits on average. Sometimes the best way to follow through with resolutions is investing in a membership and having instructors and workout friends provide encouragement. And buying a pool pass is no different than buying an Epic Pass, Ikon Pass or Gems Card for skiing and snowboarding. It gives you incentive to get outdoors to maximize your purchase.

Let Glenwood Hot Springs Resort be your partner in making your New Year’s resolutions a reality with the following benefits to a healthier you.

Athletic Club

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is home to the premier fitness facility in Glenwood Springs. A year membership, punch card for six visits, and day pass all include access to the world’s largest hot springs pool via a separate entrance as well as use of a private sundeck that overlooks the pool.

Located in the resort’s beautifully restored historic bathhouse, the Athletic Club has state-of-the-art weight and cardio equipment and offers a wide range of classes such as yoga, Pilates and cycling. Or elevate your heart rate with a game of racquetball or handball on the two available courts before swimming laps in the big pool, which is kept at a pleasant temperature of 90-93°F. Or treat your muscles to a relaxing soak in the newly renovated Therapy Pool kept around 104°F.

Additional benefits of the Athletic Club are high-end men’s and women’s locker rooms, towel service, and an adult-only wet lounge complete with a steam room, sauna, and hot tub.

Swim Lessons

Just as there is no shivering to get in and swim laps in our blissful natural hot springs, it is more pleasant to learn and improve swimming skills at the resort’s private and semi-private swim lessons, if that happens to be one of your resolutions for the year. There is plenty of room to spread out in the low chlorine and mineral-rich pool and a team of knowledgeable instructors ready to assist. Glenwood Hot Springs Pool’s SwimWell Program is committed to providing the highest quality swim lessons for adults and kids.

If you have questions or want to schedule a 45-minute lesson, submit a request through the contact us page here on our website and check the swim lesson box.

Health Benefits of Hot Springs

Every hot springs has its own unique blend of minerals and temperatures. The water source for Glenwood Hot Springs Resort is the on-site Yampah spring, a name it was given by Native Americans that means “big medicine.” Yampah spring contains 15 minerals and flows at a rate of 3.5 gallons of water per day at approximately 122°F. Besides relieving aches and pains, soaking in warm, highly concentrated mineral water has many other wellness benefits. Increasing body temperature helps naturally eliminate toxins, increase circulation and reduce blood pressure. Also, essential minerals are absorbed through your skin, providing a natural health boost.

Rocky Mountain High

Listening to the famous John Denver song “Rocky Mountain High,” you get a feel for the rich sense of place in the Colorado mountains. Starting a new year and getting through the winter can be tough for some, so consider heading to the mountains and spending time in Glenwood Springs. You are sure to get a boost from the 300 days of annual sunshine, abundance of fresh air, a wide range of activities for getting outdoors to exercise, and the snowcapped peaks and star-filled skies.
